Mortar Board Storytelling Festival. Mortar Board Storytelling Festival As a part of our group's focus on literacy and reading promotion, we're hosting our first annual Storytelling Festival on November 17 in Lodge 1 (undergrad campus) from 8-10 p.m. We're hoping to have students from across campus come together for an evening of competitive storytelling, with great prizes for the winners and raffles throughout the evening for everyone there. The festival will serve as the opening of our fall book drive, and the winners will be invited to present at Green and Gold Christmas in December. We're open to individual or group dramatic readings from childhood favorites or your own material. The event will be focused on stories appropriate for elementary school children, so keep it PG, and each selection shouldn't go past seven minutes in length. Again, we plan to have great prizes to give to the winners and some delicious snacks for everyone to enjoy. Students can register by emailing wmstorytelling@gmail.com with their information. You can also check out the Facebook event: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=164668414725 . |
